Then place the bag so that the opening is in the area with a dip in it. That is the part that sucks the air out. Next close the lid by pushing down on both sides. Next, press the vacuum button. After the air is sucked out, hit the stop/start button. That will seal the bag. If you want to add a second seal just to be sure. Put the bag back in, close the lid, then hit the man seal button. That will just seal the bag without suctioning out the air.
