In order to make a tortilla simply roll up a ball of corn dough and press the lever down with your hand until the dough forms a circle and finally put the tortilla on a griddle. This tortilla press works best with Corn Tortillas not Flour as Flour Tortillas cannot be pressed. For corn tortillas, you need to buy the masa flour (corn flour) at the store (mexican food section), not corn meal and you only add hot water to the corn flour, no oil or fat of any kind. I recommend you use a sheet of wax paper or plastic under and above the ball to keep it from sticking to the press.
