ThriftyVac Food Vacuum Packing System

ThriftyVac® vacuum packs any resealable plastic bag that is capable of holding a vacuum. ThriftyVac® consists of a plastic Housing, an outer bag that serves as a flexible vacuum chamber, a Check Valve, a hand-operated Vacuum Pump, and an adapter that works with FoodSaver-type vacuum hoses. This patented, compact system measures just 6 x 2 x 2 inches and easily fits in any kitchen drawer. It works like this: 1. Insert your food into the TV2 Vacuum Bag and close all but one inch of its sealing strip. 2. Place the TV2 bag inside the QuickVac outer bag, with the open inch resting on the Housing's curved Sealing Ramp. 3. Pump out the air; and PRESS THE OPEN INCH CLOSED. Open the ThriftyVac® outer bag and withdraw your vacuum packed food. PRESS YOUR THUMB ALONG THE ENTIRE SEAL TO MAKE SURE IT IS CLOSED. The ThriftyVac® TV2 Vacuum Bags costs only 17 cents each (plus shipping) which is 1/3 the cost of other vacuum bags. A ziploc-type bag will only hold a vacuum if specifically labeled as a "Vacuum Bag." Ordinary bags may hold a vacuum on oily foods, such as Salmon, because the oil causes the sides of the bags to cling together. The ThriftyVac® TV2 Vacuum Bag holds a vacuum on all types of foods or objects for over two years. ThriftyVac® comes with 5 free high-quality TV2 Vacuum Bags. The TV2 is made of a high-strength blend of Nylon and Polyethylene that resists punctures and is impermeable to air. Three sides of the TV2 are permanently closed with a 1/4 inch band of fused plastic. The resealable side features a high-quality, double-seal sealing strip whose ends are fused into the sides of the bag. The TV2 has smooth, air-tight sides. All other resealable vacuum bags have vacuum ports in their sides, which may leak over time. You can quickly switch out the 12x15 inch outer bag that comes with the system for an even larger bag that will let you vacuum pack extra-large items. ThriftyVac® uses no electricity, making it ideal for camping and fishing.
