• This strop will not sharpen a blunt knife. Its purpose is different. It's designed to maintain a razor-sharp edge on your kitchen knives for as long as possible, many weeks and maybe months. • I came across this idea from my own experience, trying to keep my knives in the kitchen sharp. A razor-sharp edge only lasts for so long, a few days, perhaps a week before you notice that is not quite as sharp as it used to be. I soon realised that at that point I didn't have to re- sharpen the edge.
