This bundle is ideal not only for making mexican style tortillas but to keep them warm at the same time. The aluminum tortilla press allows you to make your own corn tortillas that are much better than the ones that you find in stores. In order to make a tortilla simply roll up a ball of corn dough and press the lever down with your hand until the dough forms a circle and finally put the tortilla on a griddle. This tortilla press works best with Corn Tortillas not Flour as Flour Tortillas cannot be pressed. For corn tortillas, you need to buy the masa flour (corn flour) at the store (mexican food section), not corn meal and you only add hot water to the corn flour, no oil or fat of any kind. I recommend you use a sheet of wax paper or plastic under and above the ball to keep it from sticking to the press. You will really enjoy this original traditional product that is used everyday by mexican families. When you are done making tortillas in the Tortilla Press, you then put them on a hot griddle for a few seconds on both sides of the tortilla and finally put them inside the tortilla warmer covered by the cotton napkin.
